  What is the Preparatory Year?

The Preparatory Year is a full day program for five days a week.

The Prep Class is part of the whole school campus where children can continue on from their learning at home, kindergarten or childcare.  The Prep Year is designed to provide the foundation that children need for success in later schooling.

Prep is a place where children can learn through investigations and play in a range of structured and unstructured learning environments.

An ‘Early Years Curriculum’ has been designed specifically for use in Prep.

Children attending Prep will also have access to:

·        Music with the Music Specialist Teacher

·        Physical Education with the Physical Education Specialist Teacher

·        Library Borrowing in the Resource Centre

·        Assembly (Junior and whole school assemblies)

·        Tuckshop

·        Computer Laboratory

Each day the children in Prep will be involved in:

·        Indoor play

·        Outdoor play

·        Morning tea and lunch

·        Quiet time

·        Language activities

·        Numeracy activities

·        Music and games
